How does Epigramm handle book series?
When a book includes series information in its metadata, Epigramm automatically
detects the series name and the book number so you always know where it fits.
What if the series info is missing or incorrect?
You can edit it anytime. Some ebooks, especially indie or older editions, do not
include full series metadata, so Epigramm lets you:
- Add a series name
- Change the order number
- Mark books as standalones
Can a book belong to more than one series?
Rare, but yes. Some universes have nested or overlapping series. Epigramm supports
multiple series entries if you need them.
Does Epigramm show me what to read next?
Yes. Once the order is known, Epigramm can display:
- The next book in the series
- Your progress through the series
- Which books you have read vs. not read
Will editing the series affect my stats?
Yes, in a helpful way. Updating the correct series order ensures Epigramm tracks
your reading progress accurately.
Can I see all books in a series at once?
Yes. Tap on any book in a series, and you'll see the complete series view showing
which books you have, which you've read, and what comes next. This makes it easy
to track your progress through long series or decide if you want to commit to a
multi-book arc.
How does Epigramm handle reading order vs. publication order?
Epigramm uses the series order number from your ebook metadata, which typically
reflects the author's recommended reading order. If you prefer publication order
or a different sequence, you can manually adjust the numbers to match your preference.
What about companion novels or spin-offs?
These get tricky. Some authors number them (Book 3.5), some don't. Epigramm lets you
decide:
- Add them to the main series with custom numbers (3.5, 3a)
- Mark them as part of a nested series
- Keep them separate as standalones
There's no wrong answer — just organize it the way that makes sense for your reading.
Can I use series info to find books in my library?
Absolutely. Search by series name to see all books in that series, or combine with
other filters like "Throne of Glass unread" to see which books in the series you
haven't finished yet.
Does Epigramm track series completion percentage?
Yes. Once series order is established, Epigramm can show you how many books you've
completed in each series, helping you prioritize finishing series or discovering
new ones. This is especially useful if you're a comprehensive reader who needs to finish
what you start.
Can I turn off series tracking if I don't use it?
Series tracking is core to how Epigramm works, but you can customize how prominently it
appears in your workflow. Adjust settings to minimize fields you don't actively use.
